WEBSITE POLICY

Site Policy

Use information about our research and business
with the right context.

This website is operated by Biozipcode, Inc. (the “Company”).

This Site Policy explains basic terms for using the site and its materials so visitors can understand our activities, R&D, intellectual property, collaborative research, and business partnerships and use the information appropriately.

Please review it when using the site.

PRIVACY POLICY

Site Policy

1. Purpose & Scope

This site provides information about the Company, its research and technology, R&D pipeline, research achievements, partnerships, and related projects.

This Policy sets out basic terms for browsing the site, making inquiries, and using public materials.

If separate terms are stated for particular materials or services, please read those too. Matters governed by a separate agreement between the Company and a user remain subject to that agreement, to the extent permitted by law.

Posting this Policy on the site does not itself amend an existing contract.

2. Copyright & Use of Site Content

Copyright

Copyright in text, photographs, charts, illustrations, videos, documents, and other works on this site belongs to the Company or the respective rights holders.

Please do not reproduce, repost, transmit publicly, adapt, or otherwise use these works without permission unless the use is permitted by law, this Policy, or a separate license from the rights holder. Some statutory copyright exceptions allow use without permission.

Quotations

You do not need to apply to the Company in advance to make a quotation for reporting, criticism, research, or another purpose when the requirements of copyright law are met.

Clearly distinguish the quoted material, keep it within a scope justified by its purpose, and identify the source appropriately. A source credit alone does not authorize all forms of reproduction or reposting.

When quoting or discussing content, preserve its context, including the subject studied, date of publication, and stage of research. Please avoid selective excerpts or edits that could mislead readers.

Requests for Reposting or Reuse

If you wish to use text, figures, photographs, or video in publications, websites, advertising, or sales materials beyond what the law or stated terms allow, please tell us which content you want to use and how.

We may be unable to authorize the use of content whose rights belong to another party.

3. Use of Downloadable Materials

Public company, research, and technology materials available from this site are provided to help visitors understand our activities and technologies.

Unless separate terms apply, materials in which the Company owns copyright may be saved, viewed, printed, and shared internally to the extent needed for your own review or for your organization to consider collaborative research, technology adoption, or a business partnership.

Please preserve source credits, copyright notices, publication dates, research-stage notes, and the integrity of the materials.

Consult us in advance before redistributing them to third parties, reposting them on another website, or modifying them for sale or advertising, unless permitted by law or a separate license.

Figures from scholarly articles, third-party photographs, and logos included in the materials may have their own rights holders and terms. Check the applicable license for open-access papers and other third-party content.

Providing a document does not license the technology it describes, provide research samples, or disclose unpublished data.

4. Trademarks, Logos, Patents & Other Rights

Names, Trademarks & Logos

Display of Biozipcode™, the Company name, its logo, or other names or marks on this site does not grant permission to use them to identify or advertise a third party’s products or services.

Please contact us in advance if you wish to use our logo or imply our endorsement, recommendation, or partnership. This does not restrict uses permitted by law.

Names and logos of universities, research institutions, and other companies are also subject to their respective rights holders’ terms.

Patents & Technical Information

Patent and application information on this site provides an overview of research findings and related IP. A PCT international application or publication does not itself establish patent rights in every country or region.

Browsing the site or downloading materials grants no license to practice a patent or use other IP. Technology adoption or licensing is discussed individually after checking the technology, territory, use, and status of rights.

5. Links to This Site

Ordinary text links to this site may generally be made without prior notice. You may link to research and technology pages, publication summaries, or public materials as well as to the home page.

Please make clear that the destination is a Biozipcode, Inc. site. A link alone must not be presented as evidence of a partnership, joint operation, approval, or recommendation by us.

Please avoid framing our pages as part of another site, misleading users about the operator, or using links for unlawful activity. We may request correction or removal of problematic presentations.

Page or file URLs and content may change. If you refer readers to materials over time, consider linking to the materials page, where updates are easier to find.

6. External Sites & Research Collaborators

This site may include links to or embeds from journals, universities, research institutions, partner companies, video platforms, and other external services.

Those sites and services are managed by their respective operators. Please check their terms and privacy practices when using them.

A link does not mean that we guarantee or endorse all information, products, services, or activities on the linked site beyond the purpose of the reference.

Kyoto University’s Department of Biocommunication Development is a Kyoto University research unit; the Company is a corporate research collaborator. They are separate organizations.

Relationships with universities, medical institutions, and companies should be understood within the scope of the collaboration described on each page. A collaborative study does not imply endorsement of all Company activities or products by the institution.

7. Date of Information & Forward-Looking Statements

Information on this site generally reflects the date of publication or update for the item concerned.

Older news, talks, videos, and downloadable materials may describe affiliations, titles, research status, or plans as they stood at the time. Please check issue dates, update dates, and version labels.

R&D strategies, product candidates, schedules, and business concepts may include plans or projections. These may change with research outcomes, clinical evaluations, regulatory procedures, funding, partner discussions, and other circumstances. They do not promise the results or timelines described.

Research explanations and paper summaries do not replace original papers, public documents, or patent publications. Please consult those sources for specialist assessments.

8. Business & Equity Partnership Information

Information about collaborative research, technology licensing, co-development, investment, and equity partnerships describes our approach and potential collaborations.

This site does not solicit the acquisition of shares or other securities, investments, deposits, loans, or other funds from the general public.

An inquiry, document request, or meeting does not automatically result in a contract, technology transfer, license, acceptance of funds, or provision of a product or service.

Specific research, business or equity partnerships, research support, and other transactions proceed through individual discussions and formal agreements after checking applicable laws and procedures.

Nothing here guarantees investment returns, dividends, listing, liquidity of shares, or repayment of principal.

9. Handling Inquiries & Research Proposals

For an initial inquiry about collaborative research, technology evaluation, or business partnership, please provide nonconfidential information such as your affiliation, contact details, and a brief description.

Do not send unpublished inventions, unfiled sequences or technical information, third-party trade secrets, or information identifying patients before an information-sharing method has been agreed.

If confidential information must be shared, we can sign a nondisclosure agreement where appropriate and agree on its scope and method. Sending an inquiry or receiving an automated acknowledgment does not itself establish such an agreement.

Sending a proposal or materials also does not by itself transfer your IP to us or grant us unrestricted rights to use it. Information use and collaborative research terms are governed by law and the parties’ agreements.

Personal information in inquiries is handled under our Privacy Policy.

10. Prohibited Conduct

When using this site, please do not break the law; infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy, or other rights; impersonate anyone; submit false inquiries; or engage in fraud or harassment toward us or others.

Please also refrain from unauthorized access, bypassing authentication or access restrictions, sending malicious code, or overloading the site with traffic or form submissions.

Do not use our name, logo, or content to imply our involvement in sales, investment solicitations, or medical services in which we do not participate.

We may reasonably restrict access or take other measures as needed to protect the site and its users.

11. Browsing Environment & Site Changes

Display and features may vary by device, browser, connection, or security settings.

Please use a supported and updated browser and operating system. Videos, maps, or PDFs may require external services or compatible software.

We may change site content or features or temporarily suspend service for updates, maintenance, faults, security, or other operational reasons. Urgent measures may be taken without prior notice.

Changes or suspension of this site do not automatically release us from obligations under separate contracts.

12. Accuracy of Information & Responsibility

We work to keep information accurate and up to date, but errors, delayed updates, or display problems may occur.

We do not guarantee that site information is sufficient for a particular research or business decision or that the site will always be available without interruption. Consult original sources, individual explanations, and contracts for important decisions.

If damage arises from use or inability to use the site, the existence and extent of our liability are determined under applicable law.

This Policy does not categorically exclude statutory liability or unduly restrict users’ legal rights. Where Japan’s Consumer Contract Act applies, its limits on liability exclusions and similar terms apply.

13. Relationship to Other Policies

See our Privacy Policy for handling of personal information. Our Cookie Policy explains cookies, analytics, and transmission of information to external services.

See the Medical & Scientific Disclaimer for research stages, approval status, and the distinction from individual diagnosis or treatment. This site does not provide personalized diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice.

Our Conflicts of Interest & Transparency Policy addresses the management and disclosure of research and business interests.

Each policy covers its own subject. Using this site alone does not constitute blanket consent to third-party disclosure of personal information or participation in research.

14. Governing Law & Disputes

In principle, Japanese law governs use of this site and interpretation of this Policy, without excluding protections users have under other applicable law.

If a problem arises, please first contact us. We will review the facts and consider an appropriate response.

Where court proceedings are needed, a court with jurisdiction under the law will resolve the dispute. Any separately valid agreement will be followed.

15. Review of This Policy

We review this Policy as site functions, published information, business activities, and laws change.

We will announce changes and their effective date on the site or by another appropriate method and complete legally required procedures.

Changing this Policy does not automatically alter a separate existing contract or the terms of a license already granted.
