Through joint research with the Department of Biocommunication Development at Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Medicine and Faculty of Medicine, we aim to translate basic research into diagnostic technologies, therapeutic candidates, and real-world applications of cell-targeting technology.

In diabetes care today, managing blood glucose and HbA1c is essential to preventing complications.
Yet biological changes that help sustain the disease may remain in the body even after blood glucose improves.
We study diabetes as a disease of interconnected cells throughout the body—including the bone marrow, hematopoietic stem cells, immune system, blood vessels, and pancreas—rather than as a matter of blood glucose alone.
Our approach to drug discovery is to identify abnormal cells that may sustain the disease, detect and regulate them, and deliver the right treatment selectively to those cells.
